1960
BSA's 50th Anniversary year with its special Jubilee camporees kept Arrowmen busy. The year was highlighted by a spectacular Jamboree at Colorado Springs. Many of our Arrowmen attended and a great activity in trading the new Lodge flaps took place.
Phil Robins, National OA Secretary, serving the past five years in that position, was hired by the newly named Columbia Pacific Council as the Lodge Professional Advisor. Decisions were made to shorten the HYAS CHUCK KAH SUN KLATAWA name. The new chosen name, SKYLOO, meaning "Land of the Mountain Sun", was adopted in 1961.
The 1960 Conclave was held at Camp Tsilcoos (Camp Baker) and hosted by TSISQAN. Section Chief was Don Stastny. A round 3" C/E round patch with white twill of red and black letters and design was used. Arrowmen also received an attractive OA neckerchief slide with the same logo as the patch.

1961
Our 10th Anniversary Conclave indeed is confusing to the historian. The host originally was SKYLOO, with John Armentrout, SKYLOO, as Section Chief. A beautiful rectangular patch was designed showing the Camp Meriwether flagpole and the anchor from the wreck of the ship "Struan" on a background of the ocean scene and Cape Lookout. Progression of the plan bogged down — things were not developing. The programs were printed and the location was moved to Scouter’s Mountain. Things picked up with the help of George Flanagan, Lay Advisor. Also helping was Professional Advisor to the Section, Richard Rice, as well as Regional Advisor Loody Christofer. All worked hard, and invited E. Urner Goodman to be the keynote speaker. A larger site was needed so the Conclave shifted to Camp Baker and TSISQAN became host.

1962
With the success of the National conferences being held in University settings, MAKUALLA as host for the 1962 Conclave, selected Oregon Technical Institute and September 14-16 for the dates. Section Chief Jim McDonald and the Arrowmen in attendance thought the change from Scout Camp was a real asset.

1963
TSISQAN again hosted the Conclave, our 12th, at Camp Baker. Section Chief Dave Hansen, SKYLOO, was assisted by Area Lay Advisor Bruce Kitts; 1963-64 Professional Area Advisor, Phil Robins, and Region XI Advisor Hugh F. Radar.

1964
Section Chief Ken Galloway, MAKUALLA again selected Camp Meriwether and SKYLOO as host. Fred Smith, National Chief that year was invited as guest speaker. Clarke Lethin took over as Regional Advisor and served in this position for eight years.

1965
The 50th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow was an exciting year. From its inspired birth at Camp Treasure Island, Philadelphia Council in 1915--E.Urner Goodman challenged all Arrowmen to a personal quest to be mindful of our high tradition. A 50th Anniversary sash award was given to all who completed the set of requirements. TSISQAN rose to the occasion and a special 50th Anniversary Conclave patch was designed— a 3"x41' rectangular red twill wiblack R/E and arrowhead design. A matching neckerchief and neckerchief slide delighted the delegates. A spectacular Indian dance and ceremony competition directed by LeRoy Kensrud, Professional Advisor, was a highlight of the weekend. It was a colorful sight at the campfire arena with the newly built stage and backdrop. Section Chief John Perkins, TSISQAN, and the Council of Chiefs picked the theme "Catch the Higher Vision", and that we did, for the Conclave indeed was impressive. Even the Conclave newspaper "Daily Shaft" helped us all look inward and upward and reach a better goal. Lou Amort, Section Lay Advisor, COLE SNASS LAMATAI, felt the Conclave a fitting celebration for the 50th Anniversary year and Camp Baker an appropriate site.

1966
Our 15th Conclave was hosted by COLE SNASS LAMATAI at Silver Creek Falls, October 21-23. We all were in accord with the theme "Answering the Wildwoods Call" . Section Chief Lanny Woodward, SKYLOO, and Assistant Section Chief Jim Savard, MAZAMA, put together a spectacular program. The weather was wet, wet, wet! Fortunately we had plenty of facilities -- mess hall, sleeping barracks and show halls.
Ceremonies and dancing were great and the program outstanding (a typical "Savard" professional show). A great deal of variety--Bill Clary, Advisor for MAZAMA--veteran Scouter, wood carver par excellence--had one of the activity classes. Many enjoyed his skills at woodcarving and, above all, his Scouting stories and philosophy. A nice set--patch, neckerchief and slide--were momentos all Arrowmen were eager to get--3" round, white twill with green letters and a black cut edge. Bob Hamreus, SKYLOO, brought a new spirit and great experience to the Lay Advisor position. His counsel, along with that of Don Chilcote, Professional Advisor, were a guiding influence until 1974.

1967
The obvious choice for Section Chief for 1967 was Jim Savard, MAZAMA, also a member of the National Conference Committee. Indeed he measured up to all expectations. "Mindful of our High Tradition" was the theme and the Lodges put together a great Conclave. Hosted by MAZAMA, it was held at Camp Baker, October 20-22. All delegates received a 3" round green twill red with map of Oregon in gold, as well as a neckerchief— green with the same design--and a neckerchief slide.

1968
MUKUALLA hosted the l968 Conclave and well over 300 Arrowmen attended. The site, a setting appropriate for the Order of the Arrow, was the Warm Springs Indian Reservation at Kahneeta. The theme was "NY MO MAH", also appropriate for the Indian setting. The opportunity for the cultural exchange with the Warm Springs Indians was indeed a highlight and their involvement in the program was inspiring. Of particular note were the Indian salmon banquet and the round dance that lasted 'til the wee hours. TSISQAN, and the Conclave Committee, invited as guest speaker, Luther Jerstad, who told us about his conquest of Mt. Everest and showed us the National Geographic movie before its release. The patch was a tall dome red border, solid border with an Indian tepee and the theme.

1969
For the 'next two Conclaves we returned to the Scout Camp setting. Host SKYLOO selected Camp Meriwether October 10-12. Section Chief Dave Bauer, COLE SNASS LAMATAI, and the Conclave Committee chose a repeat of the beautiful 1961 Conclave patch using the same design with the updated dates.
