1990
Mazama chose Camp McLoughlin on the Lake of the Woods to celebrate
our orders 75th anniversary. The theme chosen was Pride
in our past, Service in our future. The patch is pentagon
shaped with each lodge occupying a side. A pocket loop is sewn on
whichever side the owner comes from. The blue R/E was for participants
and the yellow R/E was for donations.
1991
Camp Baker again was the site as Tsisqan lodge hosted the 1991 Conclave.
The Theme was Strengthening the ties of 40 years. A highlight of
the weekend was a casino/carnival held Saturday evening that filled
the entire dining hall. A 4 round grey R/E or silver mylar
R/E for donation, with black letters was a well recieved patch.
1992
Cole Snass Lamatai hosted the 1992 Conclave at Camp Tadmore, a church
camp near Lebanon Oregon. Three patches were made, Red C/E for participant,
blue C/E for trading post, gray C/E for donation. All are tee pee
shaped but the red C/E has a missing top. Participants had to earn
the top piece.
1993
Makualla hosted the 31st conclave at a church camp only a few hundred
yards from the Methodist camp on Suttle Lake that was the site for
the origional XIa Conclave. The theme for the event was Apatshin.
A yellow R/E and gray R/E for staff, 4 square patch was issued.
a flap shaped pin was used as a spirit award.
1994
W1a underwent a major change during the year and arrived at the
Conclave as three lodges rather than five. Skyloo and Cole Snass
Lamatai merged to form Wauna La-Montay and Mazama and Makualla
merged to form Lo La Quam Geela. The new Wauna La-Montay
Lodge hosted the Conclave at Camp Rilea near Seaside OR. All of
the meals served were Traditional Indian dishes. Four patches were
issued: a 4 round white R/E for participants, a Maroon R/E
for donations, a silver mylar R/E for staff, and a 2 round
white R/E for a spirit award.
1995
Camp Baker again was used when Tsisqan took its turn to host Conclave.
The Oregon National Guard did a nice job of displaying its hardware
including a Hummer with a TOW rocket and an Infrared scope. The
patches were 3 1/2 W by 4 1/2 T dome shaped with a red
R/E for participants and a Grey R/E for Donations. The theme for
the event was Honoring Traditions Always and Faithfully.
1996
Lo La Qam Geela Hosted its first Conclave at the Oregon Institute
of Technology in Klamath Falls. The theme was Spirit of the
Flame Uniting Our Fires. The patch was a tall oval with a
light blue twill. Blue R/E for Participants & Red R/E for donation.
1997
We went back to Camp Rilea in 1997 as Wauna La-Montay took
its turn hosting Conclave. A big hit of the weekend was the Armored
Personell Carrier rides offered by the National Guard. We were all
affraid that this would be our last fall Conclave since National
was forcing all sections to move Conclave to the Spring. A 4
round patch ................
1998
A newly inproved Camp Baker was the site for the 1998 W1a Conclave.
New Shelters and a fixed up dining hall welcomed the section. This
was our first and hopefully only Spring Conclave. It Rained. All
of the lodges petitioned National to let us go back to the fall
and the lower attendence helped to convince them that we knew what
was best for our section. The Patch is a 4 W by 5 1/4
T dome shaped set. White for participant, red for donation and silver
mylar for staff.
1999
Camp McLoughlin was chosen by Lo La Qam Geela for the 1999 Conclave
which was moved back to the fall. The Conclave was a blast for all.
Cameron Mulder was elected for a second term as Section Chief, and
then elected to be the Western Region Chief. This is also the year
that National enacted a new 5-year contigency plan and formed a
new troop liason position for OA. One of the main training classes
at Conclave was about how to enact this new position into the troops
and teams.
